Twelve questions and answers about Telehealth at LCH.

Telehealth connects patients and their providers through technology instead of being in the same room. It will feel like a conversation on Skype, Facetime, WhatsApp, and other video chat platforms that you may be using with family and friends, but your information and privacy is protected just like if you saw us in the office. LCH Telehealth 101 ENG

What’s Telehealth? Telehealth connects patients and their providers through technology instead of being in the same room. It will feel like a conversation on Skype, Facetime, WhatsApp, and other video chat platforms that you may be using with family and friends, but your information and privacy is protected just like if you saw us in the office.

What kind of LCH visits are done with Telehealth? Primary Care: Diabetes, high blood pressure, lab follow-up, medication follow-up, chronic care visits, nutrition appointments, certain acute visits. Pediatrics: Skin conditions or rashes, cold symptoms, conjunctivitis, vomiting/diarrhea/constipation, follow up asthma, mental health and ADHD, and minor injuries visible through the Telehealth technology. Behavioral Health: All Behavioral Health visits can be seen via Telehealth, including medication follow-up, anxiety, and depression. Women’s Health: Irregular periods, heavy or prolonged bleeding, contraceptive counseling, infertility, pregnancy planning, menopause, some urinary symptoms and inflammation or infection. Acute care visits dental emergencies and women’s health related concerns on prenatal care are still taking place in person in your health center. Social assistant visits are being conducted over the phone by calling (610) 444 -7550 option seven but we hope to incorporate this service into our Telehealth model in the near future.

What if I have COVID-19 symptoms? Schedule a Telehealth visit. Based on a Telehealth visit will refer you and help coordinate next steps as needed.

What do I need in order to have a Telehealth appointment? Access to data or Wi-Fi to connect on internet a device with a video camera like a cell phone or web camera. A well lit space in your home at work place where you can privately work without interruption your current medication list paper and pen and any notes that you typically take with you to a doctor’s appointment.

How soon can I get a Telehealth appointment? Same day next day Telehealth appointments are available at LCH slaking or in-person model. We will have walking spaces available during our normal business hours.

How do I schedule a Telehealth appointment at LCH? Call our main number (610) 444 – 7550 to talk with our front office team who will help you to schedule a visit you can also call to cancel or reschedule.

How do I check in to my Telehealth appointment? About five minutes before your appointment you will receive a phone call from one of our medical assistants to make sure that you are ready for the Telehealth appointment.

What if I have trouble connecting? If we don’t connect with you within the first few minutes of the visits LCH will call you back to address the connection issue.

Is there a cost associated with the LCH Telehealth? Telehealth is an option at no extra cost but the same fees apply as to with a normal face-to-face visit. Insurance or no insurance, LCH will take care of you. Our sliding scale fees are based on your income and family size. We don’t turn anyone away due to inability to pay.

Will my Telehealth doctor be my LCH provider? It is our hope that your Telehealth provider will be your same provider at LCH. However, your provider may not be available at a time that you need the appointment. We will work together as a team to coordinate care for you.

Do I need to be a current patient of LCH for Telehealth? No, the community is welcome to join LCH as a new patient via Telehealth but it is our hope that you continue care with us beyond the Telehealth visit. Our team will connect with you over the phone with the necessary screening questions and information prior to your Telehealth appointment.
