Just give us a call or ask while you are at LCH for any of our other services- we will have someone available to see you the same or next day.  We also have behavioral health services through Telehealth. Telehealth connects patients and their therapist or behavioral health consultant through technology instead of being in the same room. It will feel like a conversation on Skype, Facetime, WhatsApp, and other video chat platforms that you may be using with family and friends, but your information and privacy is protected just like if you saw us in the office.

Our team of behavioral health professionals can provide different levels of care, depending on your needs and preferences. ¿Habla español? Nuestros terapistas hablan español y inglés.

LCH Behavioral Health Consultants (BHC’s) meet with members to answer questions and provide information on topics like depression, anxiety and other mental illness, as well as behaviors affecting health. Support is available in our Kennett Square, Oxford, and West Grove locations and through Telehealth.  Download our bilingual, printable flyer on mental health services at LCH.

Behavioral Health and Telehealth

Common Questions about virtual BHC visits through Telehealth.

What does a Telehealth visit for behavioral health look like at LCH?
Telehealth looks the same as our in-person mental health at LCH. The only difference is that the visit is conducted virtually through a screen.

Why do patients like Telehealth BHC visits?
Telehealth visits give our patients more flexibility. And our patients can continue their appointments even when there are barriers to care such as transportation and childcare.

What are some ways to best prepare yourself for a BHC Telehealth visit?
Make sure you have a strong internet connection. And pick a designated, quiet, confidential space in your home. If you have other family members in the house during your scheduled visit, let them know that you are unavailable during your appointment. You can even put a sign on the door to help remind them. Integrated Behavioral Health

What does an integrated behavioral health visit look like?

  1. Brief (15-30 minutes)
  2. During a medical visit or scheduled separately
  3. Follow-up is only as needed (maybe only 2-3 times, or once a year)
  4. Collaboration with Primary Care Provider
  5. Screenings for & strategies to manage acute stressors, depression, anxiety, sleep difficulty, health management, etc.

Behavioral health professionals work alongside your primary care providers as part of your medical team.

We are available for brief, in the moment consultations and follow-up visits. If your primary care provider has a specific concern, he or she will ask you to stay for a few extra minutes to meet with a Behavioral Health Consultant to better understand how stressors or behavioral health concerns might be affecting your physical health. Integrated behavioral health is available at all three of our locations.

When did you join the LCH team?

I first joined the LCH team in 2013 working as an ESL teacher and a Resource Specialist in the social service department. After going back to school to get my MSW from 2015 to 2016 I returned to LCH in September, 2016 to join the BHC team.

Why did you decide to become a Behavioral Health Consultant?

I decided that I wanted to become a Behavioral Health Consultant when the Behavioral Health program started at LCH a few years ago. Seeing how Courtney, Abner, and Amy were integrating mental health services into primary care inspired me to go back to school because I believed and still believe that holistic, integrated, care is how to truly make our community healthier.

Why do you like working at LCH?

I like working at LCH because I believe strongly in the mission and feel proud of the work we do and the services we provide. It is truly a special place.

What is your most important mental health tip for patients?

The most important mental health tip that I have for patients would be to embrace self-care i.e. carving out time specific time every day to do things “just for you” that make you happy, whether it’s taking a walk in the park or playing games with the kids.

When did you join the LCH team?

I have been a part of the LCH team since October 2011.

Why did you decide to become a Behavioral Health Consultant?

I have seen great limitations in our current mental healthcare system and I believe that by integrating behavioral health into primary care we are making a difference to many people. It is exciting to be on the front line of a new model of care! As a social worker, I believe that people are resilient and strong and sometimes all they need is the opportunity to be heard. I feel privileged and humbled to hear people’s stories as a Behavioral Health Consultant at LCH and hope to provide the best care possible within primary care.

Why do you like working at LCH?

I am grateful to work at a place that cares about community and constantly strives to improve. I also love working with bilingual colleagues from around the globe- everyone brings a little something different to the table, and we learn a lot from each other!

What is your most important mental health tip for patients?

Self-care! We all experience stress; Pay attention to the impact it has on your life, and find ways to eliminate or decrease those effects. Even things as simple as cooking a good meal, going for a walk in the park or a taking a hot bath can make you feel relaxed or give you the boost of energy you need to get through a tough day.

Why did you decide to become a Behavioral Health Consultant?
