The primary function of the Medical Assistant is to assist the clinician in the provision of healthcare services to the client and to act as an advocate for the client.  The Medical Assistant collects health information, performs vital signs, assists with clinical procedures as required, and records medical data in the electronic health record. This position is responsible for answering calls on LCH’s main line, routing calls to appropriate staff, making appointments for the health center and providing basic information. When functioning in the role of front office reception, the PSR directs patients to the proper service, performs patient intake and assessment, provides check-out services, collects and records fees, and provides patient services (appointments and inquiries).
