Care That Grows with You

For the past six years, one local family has found comprehensive healthcare at LCH. It all started when the children began receiving care at LCH after a family friend recommended the center. They had recently moved from Delaware to Pennsylvania and were looking for a trusted place to establish care for their growing family.
Everyone in the household now comes to LCH, using a variety of services, including behavioral health care for one of the children. “To be honest, you [LCH] do what you can to attend to our needs,” the mother, Laura*, shared. “When they are sick, you do what is possible to schedule them that day. That is really important to me when they are feeling sick.”
Recently, the family took part in a free vision screening event hosted by LCH with the Eagles Eye Mobile powered by Vision to Learn. It couldn’t have come at a better time. One sibling had failed her vision screening during a pediatric appointment at LCH, and her brother, who has worn glasses since he was 5, had just lost his pair. Now 16 and nearsighted, he needed new glasses urgently.
Both teens were seen during the mobile visit. “That program — it’s a lot of help!” said Laura. The teens were able to pick out new frames on-site and are now waiting for their glasses to arrive in the mail. “This is a great help because if we had gone somewhere else, we would’ve been charged, and sometimes you just don’t have the means to pay,” she added.
Her daughter especially enjoyed the experience. “I liked it! They were very nice, and it was calm and cool in the van. We got to see all the glasses and try them on — it was nice.”
For this family, LCH continues to be more than a health center—it’s a place they can count on for care, compassion, and community.
