LCH receives top rankings from HRSA
Awards for Quality Health Leader and Delivering High Value Health Care reflects care at LCH.
In recent national rankings released by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), La Comunidad Hispana (LCH) earned the status of Health Center Quality Leader for the second year in a row. LCH is one of only fourteen health centers in the state of Pennsylvania to receive this award this year. According to HRSA’s website, Quality Awards recognize high performing health centers across the country as well as those that have made significant improvements from the previous year.
LCH also received the Delivering High Value Health Care award this year, making it one of just three health centers in Pennsylvania to receive this award. “This is a new category for us and we could not be prouder,” said Alisa Jones, President and CEO of LCH. “This award recognizes LCH as a true medical home for everyone, with top-quality, person-centered care. We see this level of quality in our day to day operations, and it is an honor to have HRSA recognize LCH at a national level.”
In the United States, over 27 million people use one of the 1,400 community health centers as their medical home, according to the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC). In southern Chester County, over 6,000 members of the greater community come to LCH for this care.
In a recent letter from HRSA to LCH announcing the Quality Awards, Administrator George Sigounas, MS, Ph.D., commented on the value of community health centers: “For more than 50 years, health centers have delivered affordable, accessible, cost-effective, and quality primary health care to patients regardless of their ability to pay.” Ronan Gannon, Chair of LCH’s Board of Directors, commented that the Quality Award announcements were perfect timing for National Health Center Week. “What a perfect way to close out last week’s celebration of community health centers. It is an encouraging reminder that we are a part of a bigger network that can help make a difference and change lives.”
