Cheri Rinehart, President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers (PACHC), spoke to the LCH Board of Directors recently about the Health Center Movement. Under Cheri’s leadership, PACHC advocates and supports the network of community health centers across Pennsylvania.  

The health center movement is a pivotal initiative in the United States aimed at providing comprehensive, accessible, and affordable healthcare to underserved populations. Originating in the 1960s with the establishment of the first community health centers, this movement was inspired by the need to address not only medical needs but also the social determinants of health, such as poverty, education, and housing.
